Wednesday, May 2 2018, 5:30pm Lamar Dodd N231 SPACES IN SPACES OF SPACES Work by the Mathematics Outreach Design Lab May 2 - June 2, 2018 Opening: May 2, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. At Lamar Dodd N231 (The C-U-B-E Gallery) Supported by Department of Mathematics Thinking of a collection of possibilities as a "space" implies a geometric and visual way of thinking about that collection, an implicit analogy between that collection of possibilities and the physical space in which we live and move. Our ordinary 3-dimensional space is really the space of possible locations of physical objects, but we can think about spaces of colors, spaces of sounds, even spaces of spaces! This show explores a small sample of such ideas, centered around surfaces inside four-dimensional spaces. For additional information please click here.
